How does landscape lighting differ from temporary/season lights?Permanent systems are professionally mounted in low-profile housings, wired to a weatherproof controller, and aimed for even coverage. No annual hanging, storage, extension cords or ladder work — and far better durability and control.

How long does an installation take?Typical single-home installs take 1–2 business days, depending on scope. Larger or commercial projects have custom timelines provided in the proposal.

Do I need an HOA approval or building permit?Often an HOA submittal is required; permits depend on local code. Hawkstone prepares HOA packets (plans, cut sheets, insurance) and will obtain permits when needed to streamline approval.

How long doe the system last?Hawkstone products comes with a Lifetime Product & Installation Warranty. The lifespan of a lighting system is influenced by its usage frequency. When used solely during the holiday season, it can last as long as 30-40 years. On average, a lighting system will last between 20-30 years (assuming it is only used during nighttime hours). The components of our lighting systems last between 75,000 and 100,000 burn hours.
