What the Warranty Actually Covers — Hawkstone’s Clear Breakdown
The core promise: product + service
Hawkstone’s warranty is built around two fundamentals:
- Lifetime coverage on LED modules for defects in materials or workmanship (reasonable expectations apply for normal wear and environmental exposure).
- A multi-year service warranty on installation and labor — our standard plan covers installation labor and workmanship for five years (see your contract for exact terms).
Put simply: if an LED fails because of a manufacturing defect, Hawkstone replaces it. If an installation detail causes an issue within the service window, we’ll fix it without surprise labor charges.
What’s normally covered
- Defective LED modules and light elements — replacement or repair for manufacturing issues.
- Installation-related failures — mounting hardware, channel attachment, or wiring errors that stem from original workmanship.
- Controller and system faults — failures of controller, power distribution, or factory-installed wiring when caused by product defect or installation error (subject to the service warranty term).
- Support & troubleshooting — phone, remote diagnostics, and on-site visits for covered issues during the service warranty period.
What’s typically not covered (and why)
We want to be upfront about exclusions so there are no surprises:
- Customer tampering or unauthorized repairs. If the system is modified by a homeowner or an unapproved third party, resulting damage is excluded.
- Intentional damage or vandalism.
- Damage from other contractors. Roofers, landscapers, or unrelated trades that damage the system generally aren’t covered — we will assess and provide repair estimates in those cases.
- Acts of nature & extreme events. Major storms, lightning strikes, or similar events may be excluded depending on contract specifics and insurance coverage.
Transferability and resale
Good warranties add value when you sell. Hawkstone warranties are transferable to a new homeowner within the warranty period (terms apply — a small inspection or transfer fee may be required). We provide documentation and a transfer inspection to make resale smooth and to keep the system supported.
How service works — simple, local, human
- Contact support. Reach a Hawkstone team member who opens a ticket and verifies warranty status.
- Remote troubleshooting. Many issues are resolved over the phone or via an app check.
- On-site visit if needed. We’ll schedule a technician and arrive prepared. Covered on-site repairs during the service window are done at no charge.
- Documentation. After service we log the work, provide a summary, and keep records for future support or resale.
Why this matters
A clear warranty is more than protection — it’s proof an installer stands behind their work. When evaluating installers, ask for plain-language copies of: what’s covered and how long, how service visits are handled, and transferability rules. At Hawkstone we combine durable components, professional installation, and a warranty you can actually use.
